Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Basma Security Systems (بصمة للأنظمة الأمنية), located in Nasr City, Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt, an authorised partner for ZKTeco products in Egypt. Basma Security Systems is the data controller for any personal data collected through this website.
2. What we do not collect
The website has no sign-up form, user account or payment gateway. We do not ask you to enter any data on the website itself. We do not record telephone calls made to our number.
3. Data we collect
When you call or message us on WhatsApp: we receive your phone number, your name if you give it, the content of your enquiry, and any photos or sketches you send to describe your site. This data is used solely to answer your enquiry, identify the right product, arrange a site survey and prepare a quotation.
Advertising reference code: if you reach the website from a Google or Facebook advertisement, the link carries a technical identifier (such as gclid or fbclid). The website stores it temporarily in your browser's sessionStorage and appends it automatically to the pre-filled WhatsApp message. Its only purpose is to tell us which advertisement brought you to us, so we can measure campaign performance. The identifier is deleted from your browser automatically when you close the tab and contains no name or other identifying information.
Browsing data: collected automatically by the analytics tools described in the next section, including device and browser type, pages visited, visit duration, buttons clicked (call, WhatsApp, product categories) and an approximate city derived from your IP address.
4. Analytics and advertising tools
The website uses the following tools, all managed through Google Tag Manager:
- Google Analytics 4 — to understand how visitors use the website and improve it.
- Google Ads — to measure conversions from our advertisements (clicks on the call or WhatsApp buttons) and improve campaign targeting.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook) — to measure visits and build aggregated advertising audiences. We do not currently run Facebook campaigns; the pixel is used for measurement only.
These tools rely on cookies and similar identifiers placed on your browser by Google and Meta and are governed by their own privacy policies: Google Privacy Policy and Meta Privacy Policy.
This website is intended for visitors within the Arab Republic of Egypt. If you are browsing from outside Egypt, additional cookie-consent laws may apply to you; you can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.
5. How we use your data
- To answer your enquiry, arrange a site survey and prepare a quotation.
- To follow up on your enquiry by phone or WhatsApp if the conversation was not completed.
- To measure advertising performance and improve the website.
We do not send periodic marketing messages and do not add you to mailing lists. Any contact from us relates to your enquiry. If you prefer not to be followed up, simply tell us in any message.
6. Sharing your data
We do not sell, rent or share your data with any third party for their own purposes. Data is shared only with:
- The technical service providers listed in section 4 (Google and Meta), to the extent required for their tools to function.
- Our engineers and sales staff assigned to your enquiry.
- Public authorities where we are legally required to do so.
7. Retention
We keep contact data (WhatsApp conversations and enquiry records) for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and, where applicable, to complete the contract and warranty period, after which it is deleted or archived. You may request deletion of your data at any time using the contact details in section 1; we will comply unless a contractual or legal obligation requires us to retain it.
Analytics data is subject to the default retention periods of Google and Meta.
8. Your rights
You may at any time ask what data we hold about you, request its correction or deletion, and object to its use for follow-up. Send your request to info@zktecoegypt.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
9. Security
WhatsApp conversations are protected by WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption. Within the company, access to customer data is limited to staff assigned to handle enquiries.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the tools we use or our contact methods change. The effective date is shown at the top of this page, and the version published here is always the current one.
